Cadena is ringing in the holidays in the best way possible. You guessed it – flavored lattes!

Easy to make and even easier to drink, each of our recipes pairs a distinctive holiday treat with one of our coffees, creating a powerful fusion perfect for this time of year. Read on for your cozy winter inspiration.

Eggnog Latte

We love our Colombia beans for this eggnog latte.  Colombia’s nutty undertone and caramel sweetness render it the perfect contender for this creamy holiday treat.

Eggnog Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup eggnog

  • Cadena’s Colombia beans

  • Pinch ground nutmeg

  • Pinch ground cinnamon

  1. Pour milk and eggnog into a steaming pitcher and steam until frothy. While milk and eggnog are steaming, pull a double shot of Colombia espresso in a standard mug.
  2. Pour steamed milk and eggnog into the mug, using a spoon to hold back the foam. Spoon foam over the top, and sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon on top of the foam.

Gingerbread Latte

Here at Cadena, we’re drinking Ethiopia with a gingerbread infusion. Our Ethiopia beans have delicate hints of blueberry and jasmine, a fruity sweetness that balances out the spicy zing of ginger.

Gingerbread Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Cadena’s Ethiopia beans

  • 2 tablespoons gingerbread syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Whipped cream

  • Pinch ground nutmeg

  • Pinch ground cinnamon

  1. Pour milk into a steaming pitcher and steam until frothy. While milk is steaming, pull a double shot of Ethiopia espresso in a standard mug. Add gingerbread syrup and vanilla extract.
  2. Pour steamed milk over gingerbread espresso. Top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon.

Peppermint Latte

We recommend our chocolatey Nicaragua or Honduras beans for this classic winter indulgence. To bring out the “bitter” in bittersweet, use Nicaragua; for a slightly smoother texture, use Honduras.

Peppermint Latte
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons peppermint extract
  • Cadena’s Nicaragua or Honduras beans
  • Whipped cream
  • Crushed peppermints or candy canes
  1. Steam milk and peppermint extract until frothy. While milk is steaming, pull a double shot of Nicaragua or Honduras espresso in a standard mug.
  2. Pour steamed peppermint milk over espresso. Top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with peppermint pieces.

Happy caffeinating, and happy holidays from your friends at Cadena!
